Datamar was present at Intermodal South America 2019, the largest logistics, cargo transportation and foreign trade event in South America, in both the conference and as an exhibitor.
It hosted a conference panel discussing digital transformation in the port sector with a panel of guests made up of John Mein, Executive Coordinator of Procomex, Dr Jackson Corbari, Brazil’s Customs Administration General Coordinator, and Oliver Cunningham, Head of Transformation and Innovation at KPMG Leap.
The panel provided an overview of how important processes within the port sector have been automated, with a focus on the Brazilian government’s development of its own import and export systems. The discussion also covered other parts of the sector that are targets for digital transformation, and how far down that road Brazil currently is. Panel discussions also examined the need for clarity of data sources used within disruptive applications and considerations in fulfilling company compliance obligations.
